Webinar – Introducing the SRv6 Service Engine

Jun 29, 2022

Where some 5G networks may be built from the ground up, most carriers will transition from 3G/4G networks to the new technologies by adding on to their existing networks rather than starting from scratch. One component for doing this is SRv6 Segment Routing, providing both a flexible and scalable method of source routing. SRv6 Service Engine simplifies the deployment of 5G network infrastructure and makes it easier to scale and move services to the network edge by delivering Segment Routing over IPv6.

Lanner has joined forces with a leading vendor Noviflow to provide high-performance security network fabric and programmable network solutions for SDNs. To enable segment routing over IPv6 (SRv6)/Sr-MPLS that provides security, packet processing fulfillment and load balancing. The solution reduces carrier network services cost by up to 90%, hardware footprint by 75%, and power consumption by as much as 66%, using an open, programmable architecture built on Intel technology including the P4-based Intel® Tofino™

In this webinar, we will explore below topics:

  • How the new solution seamlessly integrated with the existing network infrastructure.
  • How the carrier sets policies in software, eliminating the need to tinker with any hardware whenever updates are needed.
  • How the new solution automatically balances workloads, avoiding any potential bottlenecks and improving system performance
